Position Summary:
The Transportation Analyst supports BBU Corporate Transportation Department initiatives opportunities and network wide operational continuous improvement projects. The successful candidate scopes, designs, and optimizes transportation solutions and is responsible for performing analysis and developing value added solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze trends in client data and identify opportunities to maximize profit, minimize costs, recommend value-added business solutions and determine potential areas for improvement and growth.
Analyze transportation network strategies and compare multiple scenarios to develop cost effective solutions that meet our business goals.
Investigate, develop and evaluate new ideas/processes to focus on continuous improvement and cost reductions
Assist in delivering formal presentations to Management and local stakeholders at the senior level.
Liaise with Director, Transportation, Transportation planning mgr. in conjunction with Logistics and Sales to develop and deliver effective transportation solutions.
Once a new CI project has been approved ensuring the successful transfer of information to operations for program and contract management.
Request and obtain supply chain data from internal stakeholders in the most efficient manner possible.
Pre-process and filter the data, check for inconsistencies and seek clarification to perform analysis.
Create business cases, savings projections, operating budgets, and project startups.
Cross-Functional support: Serve as a backup to other transportation planners as required, ensuring seamless operations and continuity.
Monitor KPIs, define normal/abnormal operations, and assist with root-cause analysis for operational issues.
Education and Work History:
Candidate should ideally hold a degree in a related topic, or as an alternative hold a Diploma and/or relevant experience (Business/Engineering Preferred)
3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain/Transportation Analysis in CPG, Food Beverage or Third Party Logistics company
Understanding of the North American transportation industry including dedicated/private fleet, TL, LTL (domestic and cross border), intermodal.
Understanding of Industrial Engineering (IE) fundamentals (process design) is an asset.
Highly proficient / advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Office (ie: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience/Exposure with logistics optimization tools (routing, transportation planning software) such as Appian, Paragon, JDA/Bule Yonder is a definite asset.
Working knowledge of TMS (Specially Oracle TMS) is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly
Ability to work with and support all team members, management and shareholders.
