*Transplant Hepatologist - Baylor University Medical Center *Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible Transplant Hepatologist to join our thriving, established practice at Baylor University Medical Center in downtown Dallas, Texas. This is a career opportunity designed for a clinician who values professional growth, collaborative care, and a balanced lifestyle in a state with no state income tax.
Position Overview
Join one of the largest hepatology teams in the region and one most of the most comprehensive transplant centers in Texas. In 2025, there were 691 organ transplants, which includes 176 liver transplants within the Baylor Health Care system with some of the shortest wait times and excellent outcomes. Our practice model is well-supported and multidisciplinary, focusing on high-quality patient care and scholarly advancement.
• Collaborative Environment: Join a regional team of 16 hepatologists across the DFW area, with 7 specifically based at the Dallas location.
• Support System: Practice alongside a dedicated team of five Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs) in Dallas to streamline outpatient and inpatient workflows.
• Focus on Specialty: This role is dedicated strictly to general hepatology and transplant care ; there are no general GI coverage requirements.
• Focus on career development: This is a full time role to help expand the clinical footprint of the practice. Expertise and interest in transplant oncology is a plus. There are opportunities for career growth, research and ability to implement hepatology initiatives across the healthcare system.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive care in both outpatient clinic settings and inpatient hepatology services.
• Participate in a shared call rotation split equitably among providers for inpatient hepatology only.
• Engage with a dynamic multidisciplinary team involved in top-tier patient care including focused clinics in living donation, alcohol liver disease and transplant oncology.
Academic & Scholarly Opportunities
As part of a premier medical center, the successful candidate will be expected to:
• Contribute and lead quality assurance initiatives and scholarly activities, with dedicated resources within the department.
• Participate in the education and mentorship of medical staff and trainees (internal medicine residents, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellows) within a dynamic academic environment.
• Be part of research efforts with high impact national and international consortium.
• Avail of opportunities for engagement in national initiatives with major liver societies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Doctorate Degree in Medicine
• Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
• Where Applicable- Employee shall be currently board certified in his or her specialty or demonstrate active pursuit of board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
