- This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon the candidate's qualifications:
Strategic Sourcing Specialist I ($61,297.60 - $85,488.00 Annually)
This entry-level position supports the strategic sourcing and procurement activities of Metro Water Recovery. They are responsible for the tactical acquisition of goods and basic services. Collaborates with sourcing specialists and stakeholders to ensure Metro’s purchasing needs are met and aligned with Metro’s mission. Works under the general supervision of the Purchasing Operations Manager.
Strategic Sourcing Specialist II ($71,489.60 - $99,736.00 Annually)
This position supports the strategic sourcing and procurement activities of Metro Water Recovery. They are responsible for the strategic acquisition of goods and services, including the creation and management of contracts in alignment with Metro’s purchasing strategy and Metro’s mission. Works under the general supervision of the Purchasing Operations Manager. -

Strategic Sourcing Specialist I
Knowledge of:- MS Office software and other business-related software and equipment
- Supply chain management
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with different recipients in a business environment.
- Problem solving
- Organizing and managing multiple tasks
- Prioritizing assigned workload
- Delivering customer service
- Analyzing and summarizing data
- Work independently
- Follow and comply with policies and procedures
- Consistently apply concepts, tools, and processes to daily work
- Provide consistent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Learn and adopt new and additional processes and concepts apply to current workflow.
Associate's degree or equivalent. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Strategic Sourcing Specialist II
Knowledge of:
- General Procurement methodologies and best practices
- The Purchase-to-Pay process workflow
- MS Office software and other business-related software and equipment
- Working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and inventory control system
- General market analysis and understanding of general sources of supply
- Analyzing and summarizing data
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing
- Problem solving
- Organizing and managing multiple tasks
- Prioritizing assigned workload
- Providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Work independently
- Identify cost savings opportunities.
- Follow and comply with policies and procedures
- Consistently apply concepts, tools, and processes to daily work
- Learn and adopt new and additional processes and concepts that apply to current workflow
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration or related field. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. -
