Position Summary:
The Senior Tax Manager plays a key leadership role within Bimbo Bakeries USA and its affiliated Grupo Bimbo operations, supporting a complex, global manufacturing organization with significant domestic and international tax considerations. This position is responsible for overseeing income tax accounting, compliance, and reporting activities across U.S. entities and supporting crossborder initiatives in alignment with Grupo Bimbo standards. The role serves as a strategic partner to Finance, Accounting, Operations, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective tax planning. Success in this role requires strong technical tax expertise, advanced analytical skills, comfort operating in a fastpaced manufacturing environment, and the ability to collaborate across functions and geographies to support the company’s growth and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Accounting & Provision Management
Lead the monthly and quarterly tax provision process, including calculating income tax expense, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accurate ETR reporting, consistent with IFRS and Tax accounting requirements.
Manage the yearend tax provision and coordinate directly with Big Four auditors to address requests, support audit workpapers, and meet rapid turnaround timelines.
Oversee provisiontoreturn adjustments and ensure alignment between tax accounting and compliance processes.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
Prepare and review federal and state corporate income tax return calculations, ensuring completeness from initial data gathering through final review.
Review federal and state C-corporation and Partnership returns prepared by external providers, providing clear direction and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with thirdparty firms.
Support and review internationalrelated filings including Forms 5471, 5472, 1042, and 1120F, coordinating with external advisors as needed.
Manage state apportionment computations, federal and state estimated payments, and extension filings.
Prepare or review required tax footnotes and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with reporting guidelines.
Technical Tax Expertise & Research
Assistance drafting technical tax memoranda and documentation supporting significant tax positions, transactions, or disclosures.
Perform tax research on federal, state, and international tax issues, staying informed on current developments and tax law changes.
Support specialized areas including FDII, BEAT, R&D credits, and purchase price accounting during acquisitions or reorganizations.
Systems, Controls & Process Oversight
Oversee Tax Fixed Asset reconciliations by coordinating booktotax differences with Accounting and working with thirdparty fixedasset providers.
Assist with maintaining SOX documentation for tax processes, ensuring proper internal controls and compliance standards.
Partner with Transfer Pricing teams to review documentation and support intercompany policy execution, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Leverage advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP tools (Oracle, SAP) to enhance accuracy and process efficiency.
Audit, Advisory & CrossFunctional Collaboration
Assist with federal and state tax audits, preparing responses, managing information requests, and resolving issues proactively.
Support the Tax Director and VP during mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, including diligence, tax modeling, and purchase accounting considerations.
Partner with Operations and Finance to enhance understanding of business activities, improve forecasting, and identify taxefficient opportunities for the organization.

Education and Work History:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification or a Master of Taxation is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or industry required.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency with large ERP platforms (such as Oracle or SAP) and tax technology solutions (such as OneSource).
Experience with manufacturingrelated tax matters, crossborder tax issues, and tax considerations related to mergers and acquisitions.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, solve complex tax issues, and manage large projects from planning through execution.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across departments with a positive, adaptable attitude.
Leadership and team management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IFRS tax accounting.
Working knowledge of FDII, BEAT, R&D tax credits, and international tax forms.
Familiarity with tax considerations unique to manufacturing and global supplychain operations.
Prior involvement in M&A due diligence or tax structuring.
Experience with fixedasset systems such as FAS.
Advanced Excel modeling skills.
