Position Overview
The firm is seeking a Senior Equity Trader for its 2-person trading team. The successful candidate will play a central role in trade execution, best execution oversight, broker management, commission administration, due diligence support, and strategic initiatives that support both the investment process and firm growth. This candidate will act as a fiduciary steward of client assets by ensuring equitable treatment across client accounts.
The ideal candidate will combine deep institutional US trading expertise across all market capitalization sizes with strong communication skills, sound business judgment, and a willingness to leverage technology and automation to enhance investment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Execution
- Execute US equity transactions on behalf of client portfolios for our 3 investment styles.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers on trading strategy and execution.
- Evaluate and manage electronic trading algorithms and execution venues.
- Source liquidity and identify block trading opportunities.
- Monitor market structure developments and emerging trends.
Best Execution & Trading Analytics
- Maintain best execution standards across all trading activity.
- Facilitate quarterly transaction cost analysis (TCA) reviews with third-party vendor and Best Execution Committee.
- Analyze execution quality and broker performance.
- Recommend enhancements to trading processes and technology.
Broker & Commission Management
- Manage relationships with broker-dealers and trading counterparties.
- Conduct annual broker reviews and maintain broker tiers.
- Administer Commission Sharing Arrangements (CSA).
- Maintain commission recapture programs.
Soft Dollar Administration
- Manage annual soft dollar expenditures/approving monthly vendor invoices.
- Assist with annual budget development and approvals.
- Participate in quarterly commission budget reviews with firm leadership.
Due Diligence & Client Support
- Participate in client, consultant, and prospect due diligence meetings.
- Support RFP and DDQ responses related to trading and execution.
- Present the firm's trading process and broker oversight practices to existing and potential clients and consultants.
Compliance and Regulatory
- Partner with Compliance to support regulatory reviews, trading surveillance, soft dollar compliance broker documentation and annual policy reviews.
Strategic Projects
- Evaluate emerging trading technologies and AI-driven solutions.
- Support workflow automation and operational improvements.
- Participate in strategic initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and client service.

Compensation
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.
In addition to base compensation, employees may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

Requirements
Desired Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of institutional equity trading experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required. Concentration in finance, economics, accounting, business mathematics, or related discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated success trading U.S. equities across market capitalizations, with particular expertise in small- and smid-cap securities where liquidity management and sourcing are critical.
- Deep understanding of algorithmic trading, dark pools, crossing networks, transaction cost analysis and best execution practices.
- Experience working directly with portfolio managers.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
- Buy-side asset management experience.
- Eze Castle OMS experience.
- Experience with soft dollars, CSA programs, and broker oversight.
- Experience supporting due diligence meetings, RFPs, and DDQs.
