Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Duck Creek Policy / Rating Configurator to design, configure, and optimise policy administration and rating solutions within a large-scale insurance technology environment.This role provides the opportunity to work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and delivery teams to implement insurance products, policy workflows, and rating models using the Duck Creek platform. You will play a key role in translating business requirements into scalable configuration solutions that support the full policy lifecycle while ensuring compliance, maintainability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure and maintain Duck Creek Policy and Rating components to support insurance product administration and pricing requirements.
• Design and implement policy administration functionality supporting new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and policy servicing activities.
• Configure rating algorithms, underwriting rules, product structures, coverage definitions, and premium calculation logic.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable Duck Creek configurations.
• Develop and maintain product configuration artefacts, business rules, workflows, and policy transaction processes.
• Support insurance product launches and enhancements through configuration changes aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Execute and support unit testing, system integration testing, and defect resolution activities to validate policy and rating functionality.
• Analyse and troubleshoot configuration, workflow, rating, and policy processing issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Participate in requirements workshops, design reviews, and solution discussions to ensure alignment between business objectives and system capabilities.
• Maintain technical and functional documentation including configuration specifications, business rule mappings, rating logic, and implementation artefacts.
• Support deployment and release activities while ensuring configuration consistency across multiple environments.
• Work closely with QA, operations, and support teams to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing platform stability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for standardisation, reusability, and optimisation across Duck Creek solutions.
• Ensure all configurations adhere to security, compliance, governance, and enterprise architecture standards.
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience configuring and supporting Duck Creek Policy and Duck Creek Rating solutions within insurance environments.
• Strong understanding of the insurance policy lifecycle, including new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and policy servicing processes.
• Experience implementing insurance product configuration, rating models, premium calculations, and underwriting rules.
• Deep understanding of Duck Creek configuration methodologies, product modelling, workflows, and policy transaction processing.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical and functional configuration solutions.
• Experience supporting testing activities including unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and defect management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with experience identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Experience managing configuration changes and supporting deployments across development, test, and production environments.
• Understanding of insurance regulatory requirements and compliance considerations impacting policy administration and rating processes.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments alongside Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and technical stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills with experience creating configuration specifications, business rule mappings, design artefacts, and support documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across business and technical teams.
• Proven ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative, cross-functional delivery teams.
