- Risk Management Manager
Description
The Risk Management Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for the college's comprehensive enterprise risk management program, ensuring institutional risks are proactively identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored across all operational and academic areas. This position is responsible for developing and implementing institution-wide risk prevention and reduction strategies, including insurance administration, claims management, safety initiatives, incident reporting systems, and internal risk controls that support the college's long-term operational stability and regulatory compliance.
The manager leads the evaluation of organizational risks associated with major initiatives, contracts, capital projects, technology implementations, campus events, and academic operations, while advising executive leadership and departments on risk exposure and mitigation strategies. This role oversees the institutions insurance portfolio, claims management processes, and risk management budget, ensuring effective stewardship of financial and operational resources.
The position establishes college-wide standards for incident reporting, investigation, and risk communication, and leads investigations of significant incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions and prevention strategies. Through analysis of institutional claims, incident trends, and insurance data, the manager identifies systemic risks and recommends policy enhancements, operational improvements, and program redesigns that strengthen organizational resilience and support the college's mission, safety, and compliance objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Public Administration or related field; 2 years of experience related to the job function; Preferred: experience in enterprise risk management and Associate in Risk Management certification.
