Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a comprehensive community mental health center serving individuals and families across Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson, and Posey counties.

Position Summary
The President/CEO serves as the chief executive leader of Southwestern Behavioral and the primary liaison to the Board of Directors. This individual is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and clinical performance of the organization.
The CEO ensures Southwestern Behavioral fulfills its mission, maintains regulatory compliance, and continues to expand access to high-quality behavioral healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Provide vision and direction to advance Southwestern Behavioral’s mission and long-term strategy
- Partner with the Board of Directors on organizational planning and policy development
- Lead innovation and growth initiatives, including service expansion and community partnerships
Operational & Financial Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Southwestern Behavioral
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget and financial performance
- Ensure effective stewardship of organizational resources
Clinical & Program Leadership
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health services
- Oversee development and coordination of clinical and administrative programs
- Promote integration across mental health, addiction, and crisis services
People & Culture
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team
- Foster a culture aligned with Southwestern Behavioral’s values and leadership principles
- Oversee personnel policies including hiring, performance management, and employee relations
Community & External Relations
- Serve as the primary representative of Southwestern Behavioral in the community
- Build relationships with local, state, and federal partners
- Engage with key stakeholders including the Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers and state agencies
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and accreditation requirements
- Advise and support the Board in governance responsibilities
- Provide regular reporting on organizational performance and outcomes
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree required
- At least ten (10) years demonstrated executive leadership experience in the behavioral/mental health field or closely related field preferred.
- A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations preferred
- An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management preferred
