Description
Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI) seeks a Policy Manager to support the organization’s federal policy and congressional engagement strategy. Reporting to the Chief Policy Officer, the Policy Manager helps research and shape DMFI’s legislative priorities, manage congressional relationships on Capitol Hill, and advance Democratic support for a strong U.S.–Israel relationship.
The Policy Manager works closely with the Chief Policy Officer and senior leadership to translate policy objectives into effective advocacy, legislative engagement, and political impact, while supporting day-to-day policy execution.
Requirements
Policy & Legislative Strategy
Support development and execution of DMFI’s congressional and federal policy agenda
Draft policy memos, briefings, and talking points for congressional staff and external audiences
Monitor and analyze legislation, letters, votes, and committee activity related to Israel and the U.S.–Israel relationship
Provide policy analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
Congressional Engagement
Help manage congressional contacts regarding policy and legislative matters
Prepare DMFI leadership for meetings, briefings, and congressional engagements
Member Tracking & Political Analysis
Develop and maintain member profiles and alignment assessments across the House and Senate
Track member voting records, rhetoric, and legislative activity related to Israel
Monitor key committees and caucuses, including Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Appropriations
Produce concise internal summaries of hearings and legislative developments
Programming & External Engagement
Support congressional briefings, Hill working groups, and staff engagement programs
Summarize policy briefings, coalition meetings, and external convenings
Advocacy & Cross-Team Coordination
Support advocacy campaigns, including helping develop and disseminate targeted outreach and action alerts
Work closely with communications, political, and development teams to ensure alignment across policy, messaging, and strategy
Support day-to-day policy operations and team coordination
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree
5-7 years of experience on Capitol Hill, in government relations, or in policy or advocacy roles
Knowledge of congressional procedure and Democratic caucus dynamics
Demonstrated ability to manage complex political relationships and sensitive issues
Strong writing, briefing, and verbal communication skills
Background in foreign policy or national security policy
