Job Overview
Underwood Law Firm, P.C. is a 112-year-old Texas law firm representing cities, counties, economic development corporations, school districts, and other local governmental entities across the state. Our municipal practice spans a broad range of legal services, including general counsel representation, regulatory compliance, and specialized municipal projects.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join our municipal law group in our Lubbock office. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys while advising public sector clients on a wide variety of matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel to cities and economic development corporations
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and interlocal agreements
- Advise on land use, zoning, and development matters
- Counsel clients on personnel and employment-related issues
- Assist with code enforcement and regulatory compliance
- Handle Public Information Act requests and open government matters
- Provide guidance related to Municipal Court operations
- Collaborate with litigation teams on municipal-related issues as needed
This is primarily a transactional and advisory role and does not involve regular litigation responsibilities.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
