URochester HR-Talent Acquisition is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to lead physician and faculty recruitment for the region’s leading academic health system.
This role is responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies for physician clinicians (MD/DO), physician-scientists, and research faculty (PhD), across our clinical and basic science departments. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to chairs/chiefs, search committees, and senior leaders, helping attract nationally recognized talent who will advance patient care, research, and education.
This is a unique opportunity for a recruitment professional who understands the complexities of academic medicine, physician workforce dynamics, faculty appointments, and Executive Leadership-level physician searches.
What You'll Do:
- Support physician and faculty recruitment efforts across URochester Medicine, partnering with clinical and academic leaders to develop customized search strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Department Chairs, Chiefs, Center Directors, HR leaders, and Executive Leadership leadership regarding physician and faculty recruitment strategy.
- Manage a team of recruiters while establishing best practices for physician and faculty recruitment.
- Develop sourcing strategies and candidate pipelines that identify and nurture passive physician and scientific talent nationally.
- Partner with external search firms when appropriate and oversee vendor relationships.
- Analyze recruitment metrics and trends to improve recruitment effectiveness and support strategic workforce planning.
- Partner with stakeholders to design and coordinate high-impact candidate interview experiences and campus visits that showcase the University of Rochester and the surrounding community.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
- At least 7+ years of progressive recruitment experience, with a minimum of 3 years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience leading complex physician and/or faculty searches, including leadership positions such as Department Chairs, Division Chiefs, Medical Directors, or equivalent senior-level appointments.
- Strong consultative skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and physician stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing talent through specialty associations or networks, physician databases, residency and fellowship programs, and physician-focused recruitment platforms.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting faculty recruitment processes and search committees in an academic medical center.
- Knowledge of physician compensation models, faculty appointment structures, and academic medicine environments.
