Junior Designer / CAD Drafter

Job Summary: The Junior Designer will design, present, and manage landscape projects for the high-end residential market. This role focuses heavily on preparing CAD fabrication drawings and construction detailing. Applicants must be based in the greater New York City metropolitan area and thrive in a remote office working environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with lead project designer to implement and oversee the preparation of AutoCAD drawings, 3D renderings, image presentations and estimates
- Perform onsite measurements
- Assist at client meetings with presentations and project development
- Assist with obtaining insurance and compliance documents for projects
- Responsible for procurement of specialty materials for projects
- Responsible for change orders, and ensuring continuous flow of the project to adhere to established timelines
Employment Type: This is a full-time salaried position with room for growth. Successful candidate can expect to start on or around August 3, 2026, or as soon as possible. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Work Location: Hybrid. Remote office work, with site visits throughout New York City.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Strong command and portfolio of AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, Photoshop, InDesign, sketch-up
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Demonstrated experience of creating shop drawing sets for fabrication
- Knowledge of construction industry and building techniques
- Knowledge of product design and outdoor furniture and structures a plus
- Ability to present and communicate design concepts clearly to a sophisticated client base
- Great sense of design and aesthetics and eager to learn and contribute quickly
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Independent self-starter able to stay focused and motivated in a remote office work environment
- Possess solid verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to grow professionally
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or Product Design required
- Portfolio examples of impeccable CAD skills, including detailed fabrication drawing sets
- Minimum of 1+ years, high-end residential landscape design experience strongly preferred
- Experience preparing and updating cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractors, and coordinating with vendors preferred
