Description
NexWealth, a boutique registered investment advisor and multi-family office, is seeking an Investment Research & Due Diligence Analyst to support the firm’s investment research, manager due diligence, portfolio construction, and asset allocation initiatives for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families.
This role works closely with firm leadership and offers significant exposure to investment decision-making across traditional and alternative asset classes. Responsibilities include investment manager research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, portfolio analytics, performance attribution, and ongoing monitoring of external investment managers and portfolio strategies. The position also involves direct interaction with clients, outside advisors, investment managers, and industry counterparties.
The ideal candidate is a CFA® Charterholder (or Level III candidate) with experience in an RIA, family office, institutional consulting, endowment/foundation, OCIO, or similar investment-oriented environment. Candidates should possess strong analytical capabilities, sound investment judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly and effectively.
This position is based in Philadelphia and is well suited for candidates seeking long-term professional growth within a disciplined, fiduciary-focused, and intellectually rigorous investment platform.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Conduct comprehensive investment manager due diligence across public and private market strategies, including qualitative, quantitative, operational, and risk assessment analysis
- Perform ongoing monitoring and evaluation of existing investment managers, portfolio holdings, and investment strategies
- Analyze portfolio characteristics, performance attribution, risk metrics, and market exposures to support investment recommendations and portfolio construction decisions
- Prepare detailed investment research reports, manager reviews, investment memoranda, and client presentation materials
- Develop deep expertise across asset classes, investment managers, and portfolio strategies to support investment committee discussions and client advisory initiatives
- Leverage institutional research platforms, databases, and analytical tools to evaluate investment opportunities and market trends
- Assist in strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions, portfolio construction, and manager selection recommendations for high-net-worth clients and family office relationships
- Work directly with high-net-worth clients and their outside advisors, including attorneys, accountants, and other financial professionals
- Maintain and expand relationships with investment managers, prime brokers, and capital introduction professionals
- Attend industry conferences, events and offsite meetings with managers
- Monitor financial markets, macroeconomic developments, and industry trends to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging themes
- Maintain internal investment research databases and manager tracking systems to support investment sourcing and due diligence efforts
- Participate in investment committee meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the firm’s investment platform and research process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- CFA® Charterholder or Level III Candidate strongly preferred
- 5–7+ years of experience conducting investment manager due diligence and investment research
- Experience evaluating traditional and alternative investment strategies across asset classes
- Prior experience within an RIA, multi-family office, institutional consulting, OCIO, endowment/foundation, or similar investment environment preferred
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including portfolio analytics and performance evaluation
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, investment managers, and outside advisors
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, sound investment judgment, and a high level of professionalism
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute across a growing organization
- Proficiency with investment research platforms, portfolio analytics tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to travel to industry conferences, events and manager meetings, if necessary
- Ability to work from the firm’s Philadelphia office; this is not a remote position
- Willingness to provide professional references and successfully complete a background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
