Description

Our client is an established investment management firm seeking an Associate to join its team in Hong Kong, supporting a senior portfolio manager responsible for external allocations to global equities hedge fund-of-funds. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to manager research, investment due diligence and portfolio monitoring within an established investment platform. The successful candidate will support the evaluation and ongoing monitoring of external fund-of-funds managers focused on global listed equity markets.

Responsibilities

1. Support the sourcing, screening and evaluation of global equities hedge fund-of-funds managers.
2. Conduct qualitative and quantitative investment due diligence (IDD), including assessment of investment process, team, track record, underlying-manager selection, portfolio construction, risk exposures and fund terms.
3. Participate in meetings with current and prospective fund-of-funds managers; prepare meeting notes, research reports and due-diligence materials.
4. Prepare clear, well-structured investment proposals and manager-review materials.
5. Support ongoing monitoring of existing allocations, including performance, exposures, organisational developments and strategy evolution.
6. Conduct research on global equity markets, equity hedge fund strategies and the broader fund-of-funds landscape.
7. Assist with investment data analysis, portfolio monitoring and ad hoc research for the senior investment professional.

Candidate Profile

1. At least 3 years of relevant experience gained within investment management, hedge funds, or hedge fund-of-funds.
2. Relevant experience may include manager research, hedge fund investment due diligence, performance and risk analytics, portfolio monitoring or liquid alternatives.
3. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with confidence handling investment, performance and risk data.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Chinese language capability is highly preferred.
5. Highly detail-oriented, intellectually curious and comfortable supporting a lean investment team.
6. Strong academic credentials.
