Job Description

As a Head of Internal Audit, your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing the internal audit strategy to align with organizational goals.
• Planning, conducting, and reporting on internal audits to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
• Identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
• Providing strategic advice to senior management on risk management and internal controls.
• Overseeing the preparation of detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Managing and mentoring the internal audit team to achieve departmental objectives.
• Collaborating with external auditors and other stakeholders as needed.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Internal Audit should have:

• A professional qualification in accounting or auditing, such as CPA, CIA, or equivalent.
• Proven expertise in internal audit within the not-for-profit industry.
• Strong knowledge of risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in audit software and related tools.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders.
