Job Description
As a Head of Internal Audit, your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing the internal audit strategy to align with organizational goals.
- Planning, conducting, and reporting on internal audits to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
- Providing strategic advice to senior management on risk management and internal controls.
- Overseeing the preparation of detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Managing and mentoring the internal audit team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Collaborating with external auditors and other stakeholders as needed.
A successful Head of Internal Audit should have:
- A professional qualification in accounting or auditing, such as CPA, CIA, or equivalent.
- Proven expertise in internal audit within the not-for-profit industry.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in audit software and related tools.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders.
