As our Fixed Asset Accountant, you'll play a key role in managing the company's fixed asset accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective asset management. You'll work closely with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to maintain accurate asset records and support month-end close, audits, and strategic business initiatives.
If you're someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about maintaining financial accuracy while continuously improving processes, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Own the fixed asset accounting process across multiple locations and business entities, ensuring accurate asset tracking and financial reporting.
Research and record new capital asset additions, including property, equipment, software, and technology investments.
Partner with Finance, Operations, Procurement, IT, and business leaders to determine asset capitalization, useful lives, and in-service dates.
Manage monthly depreciation calculations and postings to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Process asset disposals, transfers, retirements, and sales while maintaining accurate asset records.
Perform fixed asset subledger to general ledger reconciliations as part of the month-end and year-end close process.
Support SOX compliance activities by maintaining and executing fixed asset controls in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for internal audits, external audits, and tax-related requests.
Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and optimize fixed asset accounting processes and reporting capabilities.
Contribute to the overall accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of Gogo's accounting and financial reporting functions.
