The Club at Spruce Peak is seeking an inspiring, forward-thinking Executive Chef to lead the full culinary vision across our premier mountain resort property. This role is ideal for a creative culinary leader who thrives in luxury environments, elevates guest experiences through exceptional food, and builds high-performing teams that deliver consistency, innovation, and excellence.
As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all culinary operations for The Club at Spruce Peak and Stowe Country Club-shaping menus, driving quality standards, and guiding a talented culinary team across multiple venues. Your leadership will influence every aspect of our food and beverage experience, from fine dining to member events, from banquets to seasonal activations.
Essential Functions:
• Provide creative direction for menu development, recipe engineering, product conceptualization, and new culinary initiatives across all outlets.
• Design menus, preparation methods, and dish specifications, ensuring consistency in ingredients, portioning, and presentation.
• Establish and maintain standards for cleanliness, sanitation, cost controls, product specifications, and overall culinary performance.
• Partner with Golf, Valet, Concierge, Accounting, Purchasing, F&B leadership, Engineering, Security, IT, HR, and Grounds teams to support seamless operations.
• Lead formal QA processes including audits, tastings, focus groups, and feedback systems to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Mentor, train, and develop culinary staff while implementing company standards, processes, and systems across both properties.
• Monitor culinary trends and collaborate with internal and external partners to keep our offerings fresh, relevant, and exciting.

Besides great pay and benefits the work is interesting, challenging and you'll have opportunities to grow. Stowe is a great place to put down roots; mountain bike in the summer, ski in the winter, world-class breweries and small farms; a great place to play during your time off or to raise an active family.
Pay Range: $105,000 - $130,000 per year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or a related field and a minimum of 2-5 years of culinary leadership experience in a hotel or resort environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to remain flexible, calm, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for training and team development
- Ability to manage multiple culinary operations across multiple locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
