Description
BIM CoordinatorAs BIM Coordinator, you will coordinate multidisciplinary models, produce MEP construction information and maintain the associated drawing and delivery controls from design review through construction and handover. You will ensure coordination issues are resolved, deliverables meet project requirements and current site information is reflected in record models, drawings and asset information.
You will report to the BIM Manager and work closely with the internal BIM, Engineering, Project and Site teams, as well as client representatives, design teams and specialist contractors.
Purpose
Designer Group is seeking a BIM Coordinator to support the delivery of data-centre projects across Europe. The role will ensure MEP models, drawings and handover information are coordinated, buildable and aligned with project and site requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities as a BIM Coordinator
- Develop and maintain M+E Revit models from base design information to coordination, construction and handover.
- Produce coordinated construction drawings, including service layouts, risers, plantrooms, supports, builders work, schedules and details.
- Maintain project models, drawings and related BIM records within the agreed company and project CDEs, ensuring information remains current and controlled.
- Undertake clash detection, manage coordination issues and drive them to close-out.
- Review design information and BIM documentation to raise missing, conflicting or unworkable inputs.
- Produce and coordinate fabrication deliverables with the model, procurement and installation requirements.
- Work with Engineering, Project, Site, Design and specialist teams to resolve coordination matters.
- Apply project BIM requirements, DG standards, QA procedures, naming conventions and information controls.
- Use ACC to collaborate, share and publish models, manage Issues and support project coordination.
- Maintain drawing registers, production schedules, model exchanges, actions and delivery forecasts.
- Coordinate tasks undertaken by junior BIM team members and review their outputs for quality and consistency.
- Use site surveys, imagery, redlines and laser scan data to verify and update project models and drawings per site conditions.
- Support the delivery of record models, record drawings, asset information and handover requirements.
Requirements
- Relevant BIM, Engineering, Building Services or Construction qualification, trade background or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum three years' experience in a similar BIM coordination role, with data-centre project experience advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and service coordination, service hierarchy, specialist interfaces, installation sequencing and constructability.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and Navisworks, including model development, federation, clash detection and issue resolution.
- Experience producing coordinated MEP construction drawings and information.
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650, project BIM documentation and information requirements.
- Experience producing and coordinating fabrication drawings, assemblies and secondary-support details in line with model, procurement and installation requirements.
- Practical experience using ACC for model collaboration, coordination and issue management.
- Experience developing site informed as-built models and drawings and delivering asset information through project handover.
