Park Hills Golf Club is seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. This is more than just a maintenance position-it's a career development opportunity designed for an individual who wants to become a Golf Course Superintendent.
We are actively looking for someone with the desire to learn, grow, and advance into a future Superintendent role. The selected candidate will receive hands-on mentorship and leadership training from our former Golf Course Superintendent, providing a unique opportunity to gain knowledge from an experienced industry professional while preparing for long-term career advancement at Park Hills.
Position Overview
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent works directly with club leadership and the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain exceptional golf course conditions while developing the technical, agronomic, leadership, and operational skills necessary to become a future Golf Course Superintendent.
This position is ideal for someone early in their turfgrass career or an experienced technician looking to take the next step into management.

Essential Responsibilities Golf Course Maintenance
- Assist in maintaining greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and practice facilities.
- Monitor turf health and assist with agronomic programs.
- Participate in fertilizer, pesticide, aerification, and cultural practice applications.
- Help ensure exceptional daily playing conditions.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the irrigation system.
- Identify and repair irrigation issues.
- Learn water management strategies and conservation practices.
- Supervise crew members as assigned.
- Assist with daily scheduling and task assignments.
- Promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
- Develop leadership skills necessary for future advancement.
- Operate and train staff on golf course maintenance equipment.
- Assist with equipment inspections and maintenance coordination.
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance facilities.
- Participate in Superintendent-level training and planning discussions.
- Learn budgeting and inventory management processes.
- Gain experience in regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship.
- Prepare for future advancement into a Superintendent position.
- Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field.
- Golf course maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of turfgrass practices and irrigation systems is beneficial.
- Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one.
- Have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Desire a long-term career in golf course management.
- Want to develop into a leadership role.
- Enjoy working outdoors and being part of a team.
- Are eager to be mentored by experienced professionals.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and operate maintenance equipment.
