Our client is a rapidly growing digital banking institution on a mission to redefine the future of mobile financial services. As part of its continued expansion, the organization is seeking an experienced Team Leader AML Governance to lead and further strengthen its Anti-Money Laundering framework within a highly regulated and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the AML Governance team, providing both strategic direction and day-to-day leadership.
• Own and continuously enhance the AML governance framework to ensure effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to applicable AML and financial crime regulations, including German and international requirements.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, internal audits, and external reviews, ensuring timely implementation of remediation measures.
• Drive the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments covering money laundering, terrorist financing, and related risks.
• Design, implement, and oversee AML controls, policies, procedures, and monitoring frameworks.
• Develop and maintain AML training programs to strengthen compliance awareness and promote a strong risk culture across the business.
• Act as a key stakeholder and advisor to senior management, compliance partners, and regulatory bodies.

Candidate Profile

• University degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Compliance, or a related discipline.
• Significant professional experience in AML, financial crime compliance, or regulatory governance within the financial services sector.
• Previous leadership or team management experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of AML regulations, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
• Proven experience managing audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities with the confidence to engage at senior levels.
• Professional fluency in both German and English.
