Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Experienced Acreage Examiner at San Jacinto Title Services, located in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Acreage Examiner will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing title records across acreage, commercial, farm, and ranch properties—ensuring accuracy from patent through present day. This role includes examining property records, legal descriptions, and supporting documentation to verify accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities include researching property history, identifying and resolving title issues (including easements, liens, and encumbrances), and preparing clear, accurate title commitments and reports for transactions.
This position requires close collaboration with closers, underwriters, and internal teams to ensure smooth property transfers and maintain high standards of accuracy throughout the title examination process.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in title examination (acreage experience preferred)
- Proficient in title examination, abstracting, and interpreting surveys, deeds, and property records
- Strong ability to review full chains of title from patent to present
- Skilled in analyzing legal descriptions and resolving title issues with strong attention to detail
- Solid understanding of title insurance policies, real estate law, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple files efficiently
- Proficiency in title software and related technology tools
- Prior experience in South Texas real estate or title services is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred
