Description
The OpportunityJoin a Federal Government Department leading a significant, large-scale business modernization and digital transformation program. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly shape the future of our technology and data platforms, focusing on cloud adoption, mobility, and application modernization.
This role is a 12 month initial contract, with an option for an additional 12 months, based in Sydney CBD with a 50% hybrid working arrangement.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to hold NV1 Clearance.
What You Will Deliver
As a key contributor, you will provide expert Agile Scrum Master services, driving team performance and delivery throughput. You will be accountable for:
- Agile Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach project teams in the adoption and execution of best-practice Agile processes and Scrum techniques.
- Delivery Management: Manage the product backlog, facilitate sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions with Product Owners (POs) and Project Managers (PMs), and track delivery within agreed sprints.
- Blocker Resolution: Proactively identify, raise, and work with PMs/POs to resolve product backlog blockers to maintain delivery momentum.
- Reporting & Governance: Provide accurate sprint reporting and contribute to Project Board status reporting.
- Quality Assurance: Act as an escalation point for scrum teams and provide a level of quality assurance over deliverables.
- Scope Management: Monitor for and actively manage/escalate scope creep outside the agreed product backlog.
We are looking for a highly capable, certified professional with proven success in complex environments:
- Certification: Current Scrum Master Certification is required.
- Education: A relevant Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master on large-scale, complex projects.
- Scrum Expertise: Excellent practical knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (Definition of Done, User Stories, Backlog Refinement, Automated Testing).
- Soft Skills: Highly developed leadership, organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Technical Familiarity: Familiarity with software development processes and technological systems.
- Conflict Resolution: Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present complex technical and project information to both project and executive levels.
- NV1 security clearance
- Analytical Skills: Ability to think critically, interpret data, identify patterns, trends, and risks.
- Learning Agility: Adapt quickly to new requirements, stay abreast of new trends, and show initiative.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships, communicating effectively across all levels of the business.
- Technological Adeptness: Comfort and skill in applying different technologies to gather information and process evidence efficiently.
