/Overview

The WVU Medicine Center for Reproductive Medicine seeks an experienced High-Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) to provide per diem oversight of its IVF and clinical laboratory. This role supports regulatory compliance, laboratory quality, and embryology operations within an academic ART program.

The Laboratory Director will work collaboratively with the department chair, clinical staff, and all administrative partners to ensure clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across all laboratory operations, supporting a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing fertility care and patient outcomes.

/Key Responsibilities

•         Provide per diem oversight of IVF and clinical laboratory operations
•         Oversee QA/QC/QI activities and proficiency testing participation
•         Review and approve SOPs, policies, and validation documentation
•         Participating in inspections and accreditation activities
•         Provide hands-on embryology support as needed (ICSI, embryo assessment, biopsy, vitrification/warming, QC, EMR documentation)
•         Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA (21 CFR Part 1271 – HCT/P), applicable WV state laboratory regulations, and ASRM/SART practice guidelines and regulations

/Qualifications

•         PhD required
•         HCLD licensure required; meets CLIA HCLD requirements
•         4+ years supervisory experience in an IVF laboratory
•         Advanced expertise in IVF, embryology, and ART laboratory operations
