About this role

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with strong banking domain expertise to join our team for a leading banking client. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end IT projects within the banking and financial services industry, with excellent stakeholder management, project delivery, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage end-to-end IT projects within the banking domain, ensuring successful delivery within defined timelines, scope, and budget.
Drive project planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, and overall project governance.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and senior management to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Manage banking technology initiatives involving Core Banking Systems, Digital Banking, Payments, Regulatory Compliance, or Banking Applications.
Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, resource requirements, and implementation strategies.
Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues, and proactively implement mitigation plans.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Business Analysts, Developers, QA, Infrastructure, and Operations.
Ensure adherence to banking regulatory requirements, security standards, and internal governance frameworks.
Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and management updates to key stakeholders.
Drive Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project delivery methodologies based on business requirements.
Oversee vendor coordination, resource allocation, budget tracking, and change management activities.
Ensure smooth implementation, UAT coordination, production deployment, and post-implementation support.

Requirements

Proven experience as an IT Project Manager within the Banking / Financial Services (BFSI) domain.
Strong understanding of banking operations, processes, systems, and technology platforms.
Hands-on experience managing complex IT projects for leading banks or financial institutions.
Good exposure to one or more banking areas such as Core Banking, Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Digital Banking, Payments, or Regulatory Projects.
Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
Experience working with cross-functional technology teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or similar platforms.
Strong expertise in project governance, risk management, budgeting, resource planning, and vendor management.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects in a fast-paced banking environment.
PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or equivalent project management certification would be an added advantage.
