About the Role
The Benefits Analyst supports the administration of Ahtna’s employee benefit programs and protected leave programs. This role ensures data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and excellent employee experience. The Benefits Analyst partners closely with internal teams and external vendors, provides clear and timely employee support, and contributes to continuous process improvements that help manage plan costs.
The salary range for this position is $74,498-$106,012 per year, please note this is a tiered position.
Programs covered include:
Health & Welfare: Medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, disability, HSA, FSA, EAP, and ancillary plans
Retirement: 401(k), NQDC
Protected Leave: FMLA, ADA, CFRA, USERRA
Responsibilities
Administer employee benefit plans and protected leave programs in accordance with policy and federal/state regulations
Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across HRIS, vendor systems, and payroll
Provide responsive support to employees regarding benefit eligibility, enrollments, claims, and leave processes
Collaborate with internal departments and benefit vendors to resolve issues and streamline processes
Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and benefits-related communication materials
Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance the employee experience and improve operational efficiency

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Benefits Analyst II
Associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or related field
Experience may substitute for education on a yearforyear basis
Minimum of 4 years of experience in benefits, payroll, human resources, or related field
At least 2 years of direct benefits administration experience
Benefits Analyst III
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or related field
Experience may substitute for education on a yearforyear basis
Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits, payroll, human resources, or related field
At least 4 years of direct benefits administration experience
