- Hot Springs Supervisor
Description
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Hot Springs Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and administration of
City-operated hot springs facilities and programs. This position provides leadership to aquatics and swim
safety operations, ensures regulatory compliance, oversees staffing and payroll functions, and supports
high-quality customer service. The role requires close coordination with the Parks and Recreation
Director and Human Resources Manager to ensure adherence to employment law, City policies, and
operational best practices.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director with administrative oversight
from Human Resources.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Provides close to general supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator(s), the Swim Safety Coordinator(s) and
the Seasonal and Regular Hot Springs Staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Staffing and Human Resources (HR) Coordination: Facilitate weekly coordination meetings to
promote transparency, alignment, and clear communication across programs.
Serve as a point of escalation for staffing challenges, scheduling issues, and workplace concerns, in
coordination with Human Resources.
Step in as needed to support front-line customer service operations, including use of the Point-of-Sale
(POS) system.
Participate in staff recruitment, interviews, and hiring processes with oversight and final approval from
Human Resources.
Onboard hot springs staff following HR authorization, including orientation to City policies, safety
procedures, and job expectations.
Address employee relations matters and conflict resolution in coordination with the Human Resources
Manager.
Maintain familiarity with employment law and HR best practices.
Payroll and Timekeeping: Manage payroll processing for hot springs staff, including review of
timecards and correction of discrepancies.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll information in compliance with City procedures and
deadlines.
Compliance, Records, and Risk Management: Maintain accurate records of employee
certifications, licenses, and training to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and audit
requirements.
Support swim safety standards and aquatics compliance, including documentation readiness for
inspections or audits.
Program and Administrative Responsibilities: Ensure the swim lesson section of the City website
is accurate and kept up to date.
Support planning, coordination, and communication related to aquatics programming and swim
instruction.
Uphold high standards of customer service, safety, and professionalism across all hot springs operations.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in recreation management, aquatics,
or a related field is preferred.
Prior supervisory or lead experience, preferably in aquatics, recreation, hospitality, or a public-sector
environment.
Current or ability to obtain required aquatics and safety certifications within a specified timeframe (as
determined by the City).
