Description
This client is seeking a highly detailed-oriented Vice President to join their Fund Opinions team in NYC. This role is critical in providing independent, well-supported opinions on the valuation, fairness, and structure of private investment funds, including private equity, credit, and alternative investment vehicles. The VP will lead complex engagements, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. The ideal candidate will be one with extensive investment banking experience looking to make a lifestyle change.Key Responsibilities
- Opinion Delivery: Lead the preparation and issuance of fairness opinions, valuation opinions, and other advisory reports for fund transactions, including GP-led secondaries, continuation vehicles, and fund restructurings.
- Valuation Analysis: Perform in-depth financial modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company and transaction analysis, and other valuation methodologies for private funds and portfolio assets.
- Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to fund managers, institutional investors, and other stakeholders on transaction structures, pricing, and market trends.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with FINRA, SEC, and internal governance requirements for opinion work.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior analysts and associates, providing guidance on technical and professional development.
- Market Intelligence: Stay current on trends in private markets, secondary transactions, and fund valuation practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in investment banking, fund advisory, or valuation services.
- Strong background in private equity, credit funds, and alternative investments.
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
