Description
Position: FINANCIAL AID ADVISORPosition Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Advisor supports the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, assists students and families with the application process, and helps ensure efficient operations and regulatory compliance in support of the College's enrollment and retention goals.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize RCC's student information system to query and manipulate data;
- Use and devise automated processes for financial aid operational tasks related to enrollment management;
- Determine FA eligibility, resolve conflicting data, complete federal verification and package student aid;
- Assist students and families in the financial aid application processes, including assistance with online federal & state applications;
- Access and manipulate data through external constituents websites (CPS, HESC, COD, NSLDS, ELM);
- Adjust student aid awards based upon changes to student enrollment, eligibility and FAFSA data;
- Complete federal return to Title IV (R2T4) refund calculations & apply results to student financial aid data;
- Assist with the administrative review required to certify the NYS Grant and Scholarship programs;
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical experience from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Experience:
One (1) to two (2) years of student service experience or demonstrated technical proficiency in appropriate field. Proficiency in student information systems, data manipulation and Microsoft Office applications, including Banner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and well-developed administrative skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years Financial Aid experience
Bilingual in Spanish and/or French Creole
Starting Salary: $59,825 - $63,000
