Description

A private investment firm based in New York is looking to add a Director, Private Credit Originations to the team. The Director will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing private credit investment opportunities across a variety of sectors, with a focus on middle-market and upper middle-market companies. This individual will play a critical role in expanding our lending platform, cultivating new borrower relationships, and partnering with internal teams to deliver tailored credit solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, originate, and structure private credit investments across direct lending, opportunistic credit, and structured solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial sponsors, intermediaries, advisors, and corporate borrowers to generate a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.
• Lead transaction execution, including due diligence, financial modeling, structuring, and negotiation of terms.
• Partner with portfolio management and underwriting teams to ensure consistent credit discipline and risk management throughout the investment lifecycle.
• Represent the firm externally at industry conferences, sponsor meetings, and networking events.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of origination strategy, including sector focus, sponsor coverage, and product expansion.
• Mentor and develop junior professionals on the team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in private credit, direct lending, leveraged finance, or related areas.
• Proven track record of originating and executing private credit investments, with established sponsor and intermediary relationships.
• Deep understanding of credit structuring, financial modeling, and transaction negotiation.
• Strong network across private equity sponsors, advisors, and corporate finance professionals.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or other advanced credentials a plus.
