About this role

Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Construction Quality Control (CQC) Manager & Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) where you will lead the three-phase quality assurance and inspection processes for commercial construction at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. This pivotal role ensures that all construction activities meet rigorous quality standards, contractual obligations, and safety regulations. As a CQC Manager, you will drive continuous improvement, uphold compliance, and collaborate closely with project teams to deliver exceptional results on time and within scope. Your expertise will help shape the success of large-scale construction initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence and precision on this project.

Construction Quality Control (CQC) Manager Responsibilities:

  • The Construction Quality Control Plan will include three phases of controls, to be managed by the CCQ, for each definable feature of the project's work. The three phases of control are the Preparatory Phase, the Initial Phase, and the Follow-Up Phase.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans tailored to each construction project, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed quality inspections at various stages of construction to verify compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety protocols.
  • Collect, analyze, and document data related to construction quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee construction site activities to ensure adherence to quality control procedures, including materials testing and workmanship evaluations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Review contracts and technical documentation to confirm scope accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain meticulous records of inspections, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and compliance documentation for audit readiness.

Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the project's designated Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), overseeing daily safety operations and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, EM 385-1-1, and applicable federal agency safety requirements.
  • Implement and maintain the project-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and other required safety documentation.
  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections, identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain required safety inspection reports and records.
  • Lead daily safety briefings, weekly toolbox talks, and subcontractor safety meetings to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with approved safety plans, safe work practices, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare required reports and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate with federal agency representatives, subcontractors, and Centerre's project management team regarding safety concerns, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain authority to stop work when unsafe conditions or practices are identified and ensure corrective actions are completed before work resumes.
